Project Overview

Grocery Guru is an app, sponsored by Walmart, where users synchronize grocery lists within a household. To increase downloads, a website and video tutorials were created to educate consumers. Tutorials demonstrated app features, while the website showcased the tutorials and engagement from product sponsors.

Video/Motion Contributions:

Animation  |  Production Planning  |  Compositing

Design Contributions:

Art direction |  Visual Brand Management  |  Web design

App Video Tutorials

The playful tone of the tutorials conveyed an effortless user experience. I worked with an illustrator and copywriter to animate the videos in After Effects and created an art direction that was cohesive with the app. One video summarized the app (above), and four other segments highlighted main app features (below).

Web Design

The Grocery Guru microsite was designed from wireframes and took art direction cues from the app interface. It gave featured brands a larger real estate to highlight their products and included a blog with recipes, articles, and coupons. Within the hero space, there were ads and a video player for the app tutorials. Once design mockups were rendered (below), files were handed off to the programming team to create and flow in live content.
